Long-Range Locators
Area-scanning systems used to narrow down where to search before switching to a conventional detector.
How they are meant to be used
A long-range locator is a survey tool, not a confirmation tool. The intended workflow is to scan a large area, identify directions or zones worth attention, then go over those zones properly with a conventional detector or an imaging system. Anyone treating a locator reading as a finished result is skipping the step that actually finds anything.
Be realistic about what you are buying
This is a contested category, and claims made about it vary enormously in quality. Judge any locator on whether its results hold up when you follow them with a machine that physically detects metal. If they do not, the tool is not doing its job, whatever the marketing says. We would rather you knew that before buying than after.
Better suited to large open ground
The premise only makes sense when the area to search is bigger than you could realistically cover with a detector in the time available. On a small plot, skipping straight to a conventional detector is faster and gives you results you can trust.
Buying in the UAE
Every machine listed here is supplied with official warranty and delivered anywhere in the UAE. If you are unsure which model fits the ground you actually have access to, tell us where you plan to hunt and what you are hoping to find — that answers the question far better than a spec comparison does.
