Gold Prospecting Detectors
Machines built for one job: finding natural gold in mineralised ground. These are not general-purpose detectors, and that focus is the point.

General coin-and-relic detectors run at frequencies chosen to balance depth against target separation on ordinary soil. Gold-specific machines are tuned differently. Pulse induction models transmit a strong pulse and read the decay, which lets them ignore heavy iron mineralisation that would swamp a standard VLF detector — the exact condition you meet in wadi gravels and iron-rich desert soil. High-frequency VLF gold machines take the opposite route: they run fast enough to see sub-gram flakes that a lower-frequency machine sweeps straight over.
Choosing between pulse induction and high-frequency VLF
If your ground is heavily mineralised and you are after depth on larger pieces, pulse induction is the stronger tool. If you are working shallower ground and want to hear the smallest flakes, a dedicated high-frequency VLF machine is lighter, cheaper and often finds more targets per hour. Many serious prospectors end up owning one of each rather than trying to make a single machine cover both.
What this means in UAE conditions
Iron-rich soil and salt are the two things that defeat detectors here, and they defeat them in different ways. Salt gives false signals near the coast; iron mineralisation masks real targets inland. Gold-specific machines have ground balance systems designed for exactly this, which is why an entry-level all-purpose detector often performs badly in the same spot where a prospecting machine works fine.
Buying in the UAE
Every machine listed here is supplied with official warranty and delivered anywhere in the UAE. If you are unsure which model fits the ground you actually have access to, tell us where you plan to hunt and what you are hoping to find — that answers the question far better than a spec comparison does.
